Google Business Profile help

The listing many customers see before they ever reach your website

When someone searches for a local business, Google often shows a profile with your opening hours, phone number, photos, reviews and directions. If it is missing, wrong or out of date, customers notice. We help you get it right and keep it that way.

  • Setting up or claiming your profile
  • Fixing wrong details, duplicates and other problems
  • Ongoing care if you want it, agreed with you

Why your profile matters

For many local searches, your Google Business Profile is the first impression. It can answer a customer’s questions without them clicking anything else.

Shown on Search and Maps

Your profile can appear when people search for your business by name, or for the kind of service you offer near them.

Answers quick questions

Opening hours, phone number, address or service area, and a link to your website, all in one place.

Shows what you do

Photos of your work, premises or team help customers decide whether you are the right fit.

Where reviews appear

Customer reviews sit on your profile, along with any replies you give. How you respond is seen by everyone.

Common problems we can look at

If any of these sound familiar, tell us what you are seeing.

  • Not verifiedYou started a profile but never finished verification, or verification keeps failing.
  • Suspended or disabledThe profile has disappeared or shows a suspension notice, often after an edit or a change of address.
  • Wrong detailsOld phone numbers, wrong opening hours, an out-of-date address or the wrong website link.
  • Duplicate listingsTwo or more profiles for the same business, splitting your reviews and confusing customers.
  • Not showing upYour business does not appear when customers search for what you do, even nearby.
  • Lost accessA former employee or old supplier set it up, and nobody now knows how to get in.

Two ways we can help

Setup is a one-off job. Management is ongoing. You can have one without the other.

One-off

Setup and optimisation

We create or claim your profile, help with verification and complete it properly: categories, services, areas, hours, photos, description and your website link. Then it is yours to run.

  • New profiles, or existing ones that were never finished
  • Consistent name, address and phone number
  • Suits businesses happy to look after it themselves afterwards
Ongoing

Profile management

We keep your profile current: updating details, adding photos and posts, helping you respond to reviews and watching for unwanted edits. What we do each month is agreed with you.

  • Details kept up to date as the business changes
  • Help with reviews and customer questions
  • Suits businesses without the time to keep on top of it

Your profile and your website work together

Your Google Business Profile and your website support each other. The profile links to your website, and your website confirms what the profile says: the same business name, the same phone number, the same services and areas.

If your website does not clearly explain what you do and where, local SEO covers that side of things. If you do not have a website yet, see our pay-monthly websites.

What we will not promise. Nobody can guarantee Google verification, reinstatement or a particular position in search results. We can make sure what Google sees about your business is accurate, complete and within Google’s guidelines.

Google Business Profile questions

What is the difference between setup and management?
Setup and optimisation is a one-off job to get your profile accurate and complete. Management is ongoing care afterwards: keeping details current, adding photos and posts, and keeping an eye on changes. Many businesses only need the first.
Can you guarantee my profile will be verified?

No. Google decides how and whether a profile is verified, and the process changes from time to time. We can help you prepare, follow the steps correctly and understand what Google is asking for.

My profile has been suspended. Can you get it reinstated?

We can look at why it may have been suspended, help you correct anything that breaks Google’s guidelines and help you prepare an appeal. We cannot guarantee reinstatement, because that decision is Google’s alone.

Will a better profile get me to the top of Google Maps?

Nobody can promise that. Google looks at relevance, distance and prominence, and distance is outside anyone’s control. An accurate, complete profile gives you the best chance of showing for the searches that fit your business.

Is a Google Business Profile the same as local SEO?

No. Your profile is the listing Google shows on Search and Maps. Local SEO is about your own website: making it clear to search engines what you do and where. The two work best together.

Do you need my Google password?

No, and please never send it. Google lets you add other people as managers of a profile, which you can remove at any time. We will talk you through it.
