Website maintenance

Someone looking after your website, so problems are found before customers find them

Websites need regular care: software updates, backups, checks that forms still work, and small changes as your business moves on. We agree what your website needs and then look after it, so you are not left dealing with it when something breaks.

  • Updates, checks and backups
  • Scope agreed with you in writing
  • Quoted to suit your website

Does this sound familiar?

Maintenance is usually needed when a website has been left to itself.

  • Nobody updates the websiteThe software and plugins have not been updated for months, and you are not sure who should do it.
  • You are not sure there is a backupIf the website broke today, you do not know whether it could be restored.
  • Small changes pile upPrices, photos and staff details are out of date because changing them is a chore.
  • You find problems by accidentA customer mentions the form is broken, or the site shows a warning.
  • Your developer is hard to reachYou want a dependable contact for routine care.

What maintenance can include

We agree the right mix for your website. Not every website needs every item.

Software updates

Apply updates to the platform, themes and plugins, and check the website still works afterwards.

Backups

Make sure regular backups are taken and kept somewhere separate, and that they can actually be restored.

Routine checks

Check pages load, forms deliver, the SSL certificate is valid and the domain is renewed.

Security care

Remove unused plugins and accounts, keep software current and watch for warning signs.

Small content changes

Update text, prices and photos you send us, within the agreed scope.

Someone to ask

A contact who knows your website when you have a question or something looks wrong.

Agreed scope, not open-ended promises

We set out in writing what the maintenance covers for your website and what would be quoted separately. That way you know what to expect, and larger jobs such as redesigns or new features never appear as surprise charges.

What we need to quote

Maintenance is quoted to suit your website, so tell us a little about it.

  • Your website address
  • What it is built with and who hosts it, if you know
  • How often you usually need changes made
  • Whether there is any current problem that needs sorting first

Please never send passwords or login details through our forms or by email. If we need access to anything, we will agree a safe way to arrange it with you.

How assessment and quoting work

Maintenance is always based on an agreed scope, so you know what is included.

  1. Tell us about your website

What it runs on, what it does and how often it changes.

  2. We review it

We look at its current state and flag anything that needs attention first.

  3. Agree the scope

We set out what is included, and what would be quoted separately, in writing.

  4. Ongoing care

We carry out the agreed maintenance and tell you about anything that needs a decision.

Common questions

How much does maintenance cost?

It depends on the website and what it needs, so we quote after looking at it. There is no fixed price list for maintenance yet.

Is maintenance included in the pay-monthly websites?

Yes. Ongoing maintenance is part of every pay-monthly website package. This page is for websites we did not build.

Can you maintain any website?

Not every platform. Tell us what your website runs on and where it is hosted, and we will confirm whether we can help before anything is agreed.

What if something breaks between checks?

Tell us. Anything outside the agreed scope, such as a larger repair, is explained and quoted before we do it.

Do you need my login details?

Maintenance does need access, but never send passwords by form or email. We will agree a safe way to set it up, such as a separate account for us that you can remove.

Ask About Maintenance

Tell us about your website and what you would like looked after.
