Websites for plumbers and heating engineers
Make it easy to see where you work, what you do, and how to reach you
Most people looking for a plumber are on a phone, and many have water where it should not be. Your website needs to answer three questions quickly: do you cover my area, do you do this job, and how do I get hold of you?
- Emergency call-outs kept separate from planned work
- Service areas set out clearly, town by town
- Tap-to-call and quote requests that work on a phone
What your customers need from your website
Someone with a burst pipe and someone planning a bathroom are looking for very different things. A good plumbing website serves both without making either of them hunt.
A quick route in an emergency
If you take emergency work, the phone number and the areas you cover for call-outs should be the first thing they see, not buried in a footer.
Confirmation you cover their area
A clear list or map of the towns and postcodes you work in saves you calls from outside your patch and reassures people inside it.
A clear picture of planned work
For boiler replacements, bathrooms or heating upgrades, customers want to see the kind of jobs you do and how quoting works.
A way to get in touch that suits them
Some people ring straight away. Others prefer to send a few details and a photo and wait for a reply. Offer both.
Emergency and planned work, kept apart
Many plumbing websites put everything on one page. That forces a customer with a leak to read about bathroom design, and a customer planning a new boiler to scroll past emergency call-out banners.
We usually suggest separating the two:
- Emergency page: short, direct, with the number at the top, the areas you cover for call-outs, and honest information about when you are available.
- Planned work pages: one for each main service, with what is involved, photos of similar jobs and a quote request form.
If you do not take emergency work, we leave it out entirely so you are not woken by calls you do not want.
What we would put on a plumbing website
These are recommendations we would discuss with you. Your website is built around the work you actually want more of.
Tap-to-call on every page
A phone button that stays easy to reach on mobiles, so nobody has to copy your number into their phone.
Separate emergency and planned pages
If you offer both, each gets its own page with its own message. Customers find the right one quickly, and search engines understand the difference.
Service area pages
Clear pages for the areas you cover, written about the real work you do there, not copy-and-paste pages with the town name swapped.
Quote request form
A short form asking for the job type, postcode and a description, so you can prioritise and reply with the right information.
Your registrations shown properly
If you hold registrations such as Gas Safe, we show them clearly and accurately, using the details you supply.
Photos of your own work
Real photos of your installations and your van do more for trust than stock images. We help you choose and present them.

Questions from plumbers
Should my emergency number be different from my normal number?
That is your decision, and it depends on how you handle call-outs. The website can show one number or two. What matters is that the emergency route is clear and only promises what you actually offer, such as the hours you really cover.
Can the website show Gas Safe or other registrations?
Yes. Send us your registration details and we will display them accurately. We will not add any accreditation logo or claim that you have not given us.
How many area pages should I have?
Enough to cover the places you genuinely work regularly, each with something useful to say. A handful of well-written area pages is better than dozens of near-identical ones, which can do more harm than good.
Can customers send photos with their enquiry?
It is often useful for plumbing enquiries. We can discuss whether your website should include a photo upload on its quote form, and how those photos are sent and stored securely.
Will the website get me to the top of Google?
Nobody can promise that. We build the website so search engines can read it clearly, with proper pages for your services and areas. Your Google Business Profile matters a lot for local searches too.
