How we work

Clear steps, and nothing starts until you have agreed it

Whether you need a new website or something fixed, the approach is the same: understand the problem, explain it plainly, agree the plan and the cost, then do the work properly.

The overall approach

  1. Tell us what you need

Use the enquiry form or email us. A few details about your business, or about the problem, are enough to start.

  2. We look and advise

For a new website we discuss what it needs to do. For a problem, we look into it and explain the cause in plain English.

  3. You agree the plan and cost

You get a clear proposal or quote. Nothing starts until you have agreed it.

  4. We do the work

We build the website or carry out the fix, keep you updated, and check everything works before we call it done.

  5. We stay available

Hosting, maintenance and support are there if you want them, so there is someone to call when you need help.

New websites

For a new website, we start by understanding your business: what you do, who your customers are, where you work and what you want the website to achieve. We recommend a package, or quote separately if you need something outside the packages.

You get the plan in writing. Once you agree, we design and build the website, you review it and ask for changes, and we launch it when you are happy. After launch we host it, back it up, maintain it and make your monthly content updates.

Help with an existing website or email

For repairs and problems, the steps are a little different.

  1. Tell us what is happening

Describe what you see and when it started. Screenshots of error messages help. Please never send passwords by form or email.

  2. We assess it

We look at the problem and work out the likely cause. If we need access to anything, we agree a safe way to arrange it with you.

  3. You approve the fix

We explain what we found, what we recommend and what it will cost. Nothing is done until you agree.

  4. We fix and check

We carry out the agreed work, test it, and tell you what was done and anything to watch for.

Questions about working with us

Will I get a written quote?

Yes. For a new website you get a written proposal setting out the package, pages and terms. For help with an existing website, we explain what we found and what the fix will cost before any work starts.

Do you need access to my accounts?

Sometimes, to carry out agreed work. We never ask for passwords through forms or email. We will agree a safe way to arrange access, such as a separate account for us that you can remove afterwards.

What happens if the problem turns out to be bigger than expected?

We stop and tell you. If the work needed changes, we explain why and agree a revised quote with you before carrying on.

Do I have to sign up to anything ongoing?

Only if you choose a pay-monthly website, which has a 12-month minimum term. Repairs, email help and one-off jobs do not commit you to anything else.
